Hi Mr Skjold !
First info I would like to have is :
I saw in you're Welcome post this : "Thanks to Fred & JP for putting this together"
Are you talking about Fred & JP from 'JP basse' ?
If Yes, I understand where come from the Aaron Armstrong PU and the modified East Pre !
I was @ School with them (I'm french yes !) and saw JP draw the lines of the first bass he made...
And for sure, I own a JP !
But I'm not here to speak about past and other basses I own.
So, I will have soon, a Skjold bass which is the one at the bottom of the page of you pro series bass (the 92 blueburst) and would like to know more about this one !
What are the woods, the PU, the Pre etc..etc...
If you've got this information...
So thank you in advance and best regards.
Chris. |

That bass is an older bass , it had emg pickups and I believe an emg preamp . The body is swamp ash , the fingerboard is white wenge . It has a wider nut than my current basses ( 4-string ) which are more like a Jazz bass .
I hope you like it .
I am a fan of JP's stuff , glad you have one of his pieces ( very limited )

I received it !
Very very nice Bass, the wider neck is OK for me (I'm more a precision
than a Jazz man).
I own a PB and a Status custom PJB (precision body / graphite neck)
as well so no problem.
What is amazing is the lighweight !!!! Wow is there a bass inside the box ?
I need to test it deeper but again, a nice grain from this bass and coming from my amps.
I tested on Tecamp Puma 500 and Sadowsky SA200 (Fet and Tube) and
sound nice on both.
serial show it was completed in september 2004 (# 6) |
