Hi,

I am about to buy a whaleback model skjold bass as soon as its possible.
I wondered is the part of the body which makes that model a whaleback attached to back of the neck or is it loose? I am worried about its affect to sound. Confused

P.S. Sorry for my english, I am from Finland.

It is loose. Pete's thoughts on this from my understanding is that you get all the benefits of a single cut, the added mass and sustain, without having to worry about neck twist from it being attached on one side and not on the other.

Funkym, if you happen to visit Turku sometime, don't hesitate to let me know; I have a whaleback as well as offset '92s so you can try them out and see which fits you better.

I'm on my fourth Skjold now, waiting for #5 to arrive... Very Happy
