I'm a purist, what can I say?
I have heard the pickups, but not played them. Definitely looking forward to that. And I just can't help myself from planning ahead. |

Hey G ,
Sorry I didn't see this earlier .
My pickups are a split coild design with winding that are very similiar to 65 jazz bass pickups .
There is very little offets from the coils and the are reversed from a P-bass offset . That is to say that the top coil is farther back and the bottome coil is farther forward .
The benifits of this design in my opinion make it superior to going with a standard single coil . Many pickup makers have adopted this method of humcancelling in Jazz pickups .

I will definitely give my upcoming bass a play before I decide on #2. However, nothing sounds like a single coil except a single coil. |
